Yoga Immersion for students and instructors seeking clarity and understanding in practice. Open to all who are curious enough about refined movement, expanding their knowledge base, study of the ancient yoga teachings, exploring posture and preventing injuries along the way. Practitioners of all styles of yoga are welcome, and some yoga experience is required to attend.
Whether you’re dipping a toe or diving deep into your yoga practice this Yoga Immersion Weekend can take your yoga experience to another level with a well-rounded experience in breathwork, yoga philosophy, Sanskrit pronunciation and study, anatomy and alignment technique.
Choose to attend the entire weekend or simply attend a day of your choice.
Our flexible schedule allows you to choose to attend the entire weekend with a well-rounded experience in breathwork, yoga philosophy, Sanskrit pronunciation and study, anatomy and alignment technique… or simply attend a day of your choice. Half days are available on Fridays.
Pranayama (breathing): Beginners Techniques and Preparations- with Heidi Krotzer
This course will walk you through the beginning stages of learning reclined breathing techniques and how to prepare the body to relax and let go. We step out of the typical yoga class setting where breathing is simply a side focus for posture and movement and we give the breathwork center stage in a comfortable, relaxing posture exploring what the body needs to help relax, with easy releasing postures.

Yoga Philosophy and Sanskrit Study- with Heidi Krotzer
The language of yoga is an important part of this ancient tradition. If you are want to learn to pronounce and begin to understand these ancient texts join us for part 1 of 2, Chanting Sanskrit. This course will go in depth to chanting the Sanskrit alphabet starting with the Vowels. We will then turn our attention to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with a chanting and discussing selected verses directly from the Sanskrit texts. The day will wrap up with a group discussion of how the definitions can be interpreted directly from the source texts to discern our own conclusions to these beautiful and powerful traditional guidelines of yoga.
Saturday 12pm-8pm (1 hour dinner break included)
Lateral Standing Postures, Technique and Execution-with Heidi Krotzer
This course will dig deep into alignment, technique and movement principles of lateral standing postures in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. We will deconstruct the bases of these postures with an emphasis on healthy movement and function in the modern western body. We will also breakdown other common warm-up and cool down postures in relation to lateral standing. We will discuss comfortable scapula and hand placement in several postures, in addition to discussions about stability and mobility and how this effects the body for safety and comfort.

The Anatomy of Posture: Getting to Know Your Spine- with Bonnie Loghry
This course provides a study of the physical anatomy of the Spine. We will explore functional movement and how postural adjustments can be manifested in the different categories of asana. Included will be a discussion on general back safety as well as modifications for special populations such as those with scoliosis, kyphosis, osteoporosis or other chronic conditions affecting the spine.

FRIDAY 1/2 day* $65 (3.5 hours of study)
3 hours pranayama immersion 1st half of the day 11:30am-2:30pm
3.5 hours Sanskrit and philosophy immersion 2nd half of the day 3:30pm-7pm
