Series classes – January through June 2012
Series are a number of classes done in sequence for a set period of time that allow teacher and students to delve more deeply into specific aspects of the practice. Preregistration is required, no drop-ins, and we encourage you to attend all the classes if at all possible for maximum benefit, as they often build on one another
Intro to Yoga Series: Specifically designed to introduce the new student to the basics of yoga with small classes and individualized attention. Upon completion, you will have the confidence and knowledge to step into any Fundamentals or Gentle class. The group is limited to 12 students.

Beginner Yoga Course: A 4-week series. Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 to 8:45pm plus *****unlimited****** Whole Body or Fundamentals classes throughout the four week course. For those brand new to yoga or those who have been practicing yoga who wish to deepen their practice or refine alignments and prevent injuries. In an interactive and safe environment you will learn the Whole Body Sequence and the fundamental principles of alignment that work quickly to to improve posture, alleviate pain and focus your mind. In your first class you will learn eight to ten postures and leave stronger and more relaxed … yet energized. After twelve classes you will know why yoga is the oldest most effective system of wellness in existence! Upon completion of this course you will have built a strong foundation for yoga practice – fully able to participate in many of the classes taught at Yoga Soleil.

Meditation: Whether you have an existing meditation practice or wish to cultivate one, this class offers you the opportunity to explore this amazing practice. We will use gentle movement and breath practices to support our time in meditation. All levels are welcome.

Prenatal Yoga: 6 week series – a carefully selected series of asanas (postures) and breathing techniques to restore balance and vitality while deepening your awareness of pregnancy. Concentration and relaxation techniques assist in preparing for and providing relief during labor and birth. Prenatal yoga also helps relieve physical and emotional discomforts associated with pregnancy.

Intro to Kundalini Yoga: 6-week series – Kundalini yoga is an ancient science of self-healing and a dynamic, powerful tool for expanding awareness. This system of yoga and meditation promotes physical vitality and health, stimulates and balances the mind, and touches one’s innermost spirit. It is a complete science that combines posture (asana), movement, breath work (pranayama), chanting (mantra) and meditation into powerful sets called kriyas (sequenced sets of exercises) that target specific benefits.

Overcome with Yoga: This course is designed for individuals seeking to overcome addictive behavior. This road to recovery 6 week program includes Yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, relaxation, self-reflection, lifestyle and dietary guidelines and stress management. Classes will be held in a warm, friendly, respectful and supportive environment, and the focus will be on learning how to use your breath and body to create lasting change. The content is suitable for all forms of addictions and cravings, including food, caffeine, shopping, gambling, work, as well as alcohol and drugs – or anything else. Because each person’s experience is unique, individual problems will not be discussed in class.
